Four musicians on the fiddle on Venice’s Grand Canal
If you are planning to play Vivaldi’s Four Seasons in Venice, the composer’s birthplace, do it with style. So why not on board a giant floating violin as it makes its way along the Grand Canal? Twelve metres in length, Noah’s Violin is the work of local sculptor Livio De Marchi, who built the craft as a symbol of the city’s rebirth after lockdown. For her Venetian voyage, Noah’s Violin was manned by a crew of one helmsman and a string quartet and accompanied by a flotilla of gondolas. There are plans to take her on tour.
