A Bronx tale
At New York City’s northernmost borough, spend a day at the New York Botanical Garden’s annual Holiday Train Show, featuring at least 25 G-scale model trains zipping around the conservatory. The spectacle includes replicas of more than 175 local landmarks – including the Statue of Liberty, the Chrysler Building and Yankee Stadium – fashioned from such natural materials as acorns, seeds and pine cones. Afterward, head to nearby Arthur Avenue, known as Little Italy in the Bronx, where Italian delis, pastry shops and markets offer various Italian-american delicacies.
