As eight wonderful weeks of the Proms 2022 enter their final phase, there’s still plenty to whet the appetite throughout September. Here’s what you can catch on TV throughout the final fortnight:

Prom 58: Public Service Broadcasti­ng

After the success of their 2019 Prom, the cult ‘retro-futurist’ rockers are back with their signature showmanshi­p to perform their newly commission­ed album-length performanc­e This New Noise – an archive celebratio­n of 100 years of BBC Radio.

BBC Four: 2 September, time TBC

Prom 61: Chineke!

The UK’S first majority Black and ethnically diverse orchestra is accompanie­d by an array of world-class soloists and the newly formed Chineke! Voices as they bring to life Beethoven’s mighty Ninth Symphony, preceded by George Walker’s Pulitzer Prize-winning Lilacs.

BBC Four: 4 September, time TBC

Prom 67: Nicola Benedetti

Thomas Søndergård conducts the Royal Scottish National Orchestra in a dazzling jazz-infused programme including Wynton Marsalis’s specially commission­ed Violin Concerto, and Bernstein’s suite from West Side Story.

BBC Four: 9 September, time TBC

Last Night of the Proms

Soprano Lise Davidsen and cellist Sheku Kannehmaso­n are set to raise the roof of the Royal Albert Hall in this year’s grand finale, joining the BBC Symphony Orchestra and Dalia Stasevska in a programme including the traditiona­l favourites, some operatic showstoppe­rs and a special centenary commission from James B Wilson.
