Pianist Anna Fedorova follows her recently acclaimed recording of Rachmanino­v’s Second and Fourth Piano Concertos with a recording of his Piano Concerto No. 3.

She has just stepped out of the studio in Switzerlan­d, where she once again teamed up with conductor Modestas Pitrėnas and Sinfonieor­chester St Gallen. Channel Classics is set to release it in the spring.

The latest endeavour for John Wilson’s Sinfonia of London takes in the music of American composer Kenneth Fuchs. A twovolume cycle is in the works for Chandos, with sessions having taken place in London in July and more to come this winter. Volume One is set for release in the summer.

Counterten­or Randall Scotting and tenor Jorge Navarro Colorado have been at St Augustine’s in Kilburn, London to record a new album for Signum Classics. The as-yet-untitled project is a representa­tion of forbidden love in the Renaissanc­e and Baroque eras, featuring love duets and arias by the likes of Monteverdi, Stradella and Cavalli, and will be released next year.

Deutsche Grammophon has announced an innovative new partnershi­p with Renaud Capuçon. The French violinist is set to curate a range of projects for the label, including those with artists and festivals with which he is associated. A duo album with pianist Martha Argerich will be the first recording to be released, followed by a celebratio­n of Mozart with pianist Kit Armstrong.

DG seem to have an eye for great violinists at the moment, as the label has also signed the exceptiona­l María Dueñas. The most recent winner of the Menuhin Competitio­n, the Spaniard is sure to find many new fans with her debut album, due in May. Recorded with Manfred Honeck and the Vienna Symphony, she takes on Beethoven’s Violin Concerto and has composed her own cadenza.
