Return Of The Tortoise And Hare
THE WELLS CLASSIC Motorcycle Club’s annual Tortoise and Hare Run is to return on July 16-18.
Usually a one-day affair, for 2021 the organisers have secured three days of camping at Wells City Football Club, where there is a licensed bar and facilities. This will need to be pre-booked. There is also a Travelodge nearby for those who don’t fancy a weekend under canvas.
There will be a local escorted run on July 17, and the main Tortoise and Hare Run – with three routes, marshalled and signed, for motorcycles of different power outputs – on July 18.
This event is open to all motorcycles and scooters, and raises much-needed funds for Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance. The club has donated more than £24,000 to the cause over the last nine events.
