Living In A Biker’s Paradise

-

MOTORBIKE CLOTHING SHOPS come and go with sometimes staggering rapidity, but there are a few that have weathered economic storms and changing fashions by the simple method of selling people good kit that fits. Biker’s Paradise in Coventry has been in the leather business since

1971. They started out selling leather miniskirts at Midlands street markets before establishing their shop in 1982, partly so they could sell motorcycle gear as well as fashion items. Ever since they’ve been supplying their own clothing, much of it classically styled and thankfully free of garish graphics, while being very competitively priced for quality products.

To mark their 50th birthday, Biker’s Paradise are creating a premium leather jacket for year-round use. The Rida-Tec 50 is being produced in a batch of 50, and each will have its own serial number engraved into a special leather label inside, as well as coming with a certificate of authenticity.

They are made of thick but supple matt-black cowhide, leather guarded and water repellent against showers, snow, oil, dirt, insects, stains, and so forth. There’s a fixed black cotton breathable Airtex lining for the summer and a removable red quilted cotton lining for chillier rides. A range of armour is also available.

There are classic style features, like quilted leather shoulder and elbow panels, side belts and side zip fastening ,and it can be zipped all the way with a mandarin collar or left open at the top. There are big pockets inside and out.

The jacket starts at £375 without armour. If a jacket doesn’t fit, it can be returned for alterations. We wouldn’t normally gush about a product we haven’t seen in the flesh, but Biker’s Paradise stuff is always a cut above the average and ideally suited for classic riding.
