A Decade In The Workshop For Draganfly’s Chris

-

LAST YEAR SENIOR ENGINEER Mick at classic British parts specialists Draganfly celebrated 30 years creating products in Suffolk.

This year, chief engineer Chris has completed 10. Chris initially applied to be a picker in the Draganfly warehouse. His dad spotted the advert and, thinking it would suit him better than the insurance office he was working in, told him to apply.

Chris arrived for his interview in a sharp suit and was the best-dressed applicant ever to walk through the doors. During the interview, it was obvious that Chris would be wasted in the warehouse and was better suited to the workshop. His knowledge of engines and skills as a welder were something Draganfly could put to good use!

His only question before accepting the role was: “Are you alright with tattoos?”

Chris is a perfectionist, which is great when it comes to welding, and he is also creative and passionate about anything with an engine in it.

His custom-built BMX won him awards and he now has his own side business, Kellas Cat Customs, making custom bobbers like the Ariel/VW hybrid Elsie, currently at home in Draganfly’s showroom.

He has also managed to tame the ancient Craven Equipment tube bender and got it working (most of the time).

Chris’s innate understanding of how things work and his willingness to learn about all things vintage has made him an invaluable employee over the years, and we hope he continues to be part of the Draganfly family.
