The B40 was the first expanded version of the C15, with more torque and a cast-in pushrod tunnel to distinguish it from the 250, along with slightly more restrained styling. Never wildly popular, they are sound and usually reliable if treated kindly. A British Army stalwart, plenty of ex-WD bikes ended up in civvy trim. The current passion for military motorcycles means those same bikes are being turned back into military steeds. These have good off-road type frames, an unusual set of gear ratios, and better oil filters. Their price is at a premium. The civilian sports SS90 version is now very rare.
