B44 Victor 441cc ohv single || 335Ib || 65mpg 85mph || 1966-70
Another development of BSA’s unit single with a bit more go that the Barracuda and the Starfire. While the B44 wasn’t that much faster than the 250, the way it produces the power makes it a much easier motorcycle to ride. Engines can be fragile if abused, but can’t they all? Also sold as the Shooting Star; not to be confused with the twin of the same name. Engines still popular with classic off-road competitors. Some find them hard to start, but they’re okay once you get the knack.
