Second class No. 000 is No. 1 in Paddington ticket auction

A SOUTHSEA Tramway ticket numbered 000 for a second class journey from Shanklin to London Bridge via Ryde was the runaway winner with a realisatio­n of £2050 in Paddington Ticket Auctions' postal and email 900-lot sale that ended on August 31.

Overseas tickets then took centre stage, led by two lots of Kowloon-Canton Railway tickets that each fetched £1250, followed by a collection of 10 Tasmanian Government Railways' examples mostly dated 1934 that also went for £1250. Prices exclude buyer's premium of 10% (+ VAT).
