FOCUSING on the modern-day period from the 1970s to the present day, this colour album nonetheless features many locations that have succumbed to the march of time, along with BR and its blue-liveried diesels.
Most of this change is down to the demise of the coal pits that brought prosperity to the region from Victorian times onwards and engendered the growth of the ironmaking industry and a network of railways competing to serve both.
