Remembering the Taff Vale with new plaque unveiling
A CELEBRATION to mark the centenary of the end of the Taff Vale Railway and the restoration of its terminus at Cardiff Bay took place on March 16, when Ken Evans, chairman of Institute of Civil Engineers Wales Cymru, was joined by Simon Baston, managing director Loftco, the company behind the restoration, to jointly unveil a plaque in the presence of members of Cardiff County Council.
The Grade II-listed structure, once one of Britain’s most endangered buildings after falling into disrepair, has been converted into modern office accommodation, a cafe, and a cocktail bar.
