Collection’s pre-Grouping links to Lincolnshire railway history
A SINGLE collection of paperwork comprising share certificates, official letters, mortgage deeds, directors’ reports, prospectuses and pocket timetables covering the railways of Lincolnshire from pre-Grouping to the BR era, will be a feature of the Justaclickago online auction that runs from May 23-29.
Railway companies within the collection include the Louth & Lincoln, East Lincolnshire, Nottingham & Grantham, Spilsby & Firsby, Bourn & Lynn Joint, Northampton Lincoln & Hull, Louth & East Coast, Boston Sleaford & Midland Counties, Peterborough Wisbech Lynn & Boston Junction, and North Lindsey Light.
Other items of pre-Grouping interest in the auction include albums of locomotive postcards and prints, while jumping ahead to heritage modern traction there is a selection of John Vaughan negatives including Class 52 ‘Western’ diesel-hydraulics.
Further selections include standard 8mm cine films of diesels and heritage steam in the 1970s and 1980s, colour slides of signal-boxes around the UK, and Casserley prints of Midlands and north-west stations and infrastructure, and for overseas enthusiasts there is traction in India, Indonesia, Germany, Portugal, France, Russia, Ukraine, USA and South Africa.
