Warship diesel nameplate mystery
WHILE working in the USA some years ago I was able to purchase a locomotive nameplate from Class 41 Warship D604 Cossack.
I believe it is one of a number of nameplates purchased by an American restaurant chain called Victoria Station Restaurants which subsequently went out of business.
At the time I wrote to the National Railway Museum to see if it had the other one in the museum. It responded by saying no but advised that they were aware that Pete Waterman had recently acquired a Cossack nameplate.
What I am not sure about is if the one I purchased back in 2000 is genuine and not a replica. Does anyone know the whereabouts now of the two nameplates from Cossack or is mine the genuine article? One of the letters is not perfect on the nameplate I have but of course I do not know what the other one looks like.
