When 2022 arrived in July!
2022 has well and truly just arrived at Midsomer Norton – in the guise of a BR Class 03 shunter.
The afternoon of July 13 saw the 0-6-0DM shunter (TOPS No. 03022) move from its normal base at the Swindon & Cricklade Railway to the Somerset and Dorset Heritage Trust at Midsomer Norton where it will reside for a period of time, and where it will temporarily replace fellow class 03 D2128, which has departed for some maintenance work off-site but is expected to return later this year.
No. 2022 made its service debut on Sunday, July 17 for the railway’s Vintage Vehicle day, operating alongside resident BR Class 08 D4095.
