Discover much more about ‘hidden’ Shepherd’s Bush station on new tour

-

LONDON Transport Museum has launched a new Hidden London tour of Shepherd’s Bush Underground station, the original western terminus of the railway that would later become the Central Line. Ticketholders will be able to explore historic sections of the original station dating back to 1900 that lie concealed behind unassuming doorways and grilles of the modern-day station.

Stepping through these secret gateways, visitors will see examples of early Central Line design features, such as corridors and lift shafts lined with the station’s original white glass tiles. Expert guides will impart stories about London’s third oldest deep-level railway.

The tours will run from October 5 to October 30, with more dates set to be announced. Tickets are now on sale online via ltmuseum.co.uk/ hidden-london.

In-person tours of disused sections of other Underground stations are also available through the Hidden London programme.
