Clan Hengist progress on public view

THE Standard Steam Locomotive Company, builder of new Clan Pacific No. 72010 Hengist, is to hold a public open day at the premises of CTL Seal, in Butterthwa­ite Lane, Sheffield, from 9am to 4pm on September 17.

Visitors will be able to inspect Hengist’s frames including the newly-riveted front buffer beam, and progress on the front bogie. Tours of the works in the afternoon will be offered subject to guides being available.

Admission is £3 or free for members of the B17 Project.
