Take a trip back in time on the Watercress Line

THE Mid-Hants Railway will celebrate the 1950s and 1960s during this year’s August 27-29 bank holiday weekend with a programme featuring jive dancing and live music, traditional fete fun, vintage vehicle displays and more.

Highlights include performances by singer Stephanie Belle and the Super Jets and Miss Holiday Swing at Ropley, with dancing from That’s Jive at Alresford.

Visitors are encouraged to dress in period costume and soak up the atmosphere as they experience the thrill of steam locomotives running throughout the weekend. There will be unlimited train rides, and passengers can hop on and off to explore all four heritage stations.

The Railway Museum at Alresford will have a collection of vintage toys on show.
