Peco releases Snailbeach hoppers

-

SOLESURVIVING Snailbeach District Railway four-wheel hopper wagon No. 32 has been recreated in miniature by PECO in the firm’s latest OO9 scale release of rolling stock.

Built to carry lead ore from Stiperstones to the Great Western Railway connection at Pontesbury, a fleet of hopper wagons was built to the 2ft 4inch gauge and used until the line closed in 1959.

In addition to the model of the preserved example, two plain liveried variants are also available and are perfect for the many freelance modellers in the scale. The models also have PECO’s new metalrimmed wheels as opposed to the previous all-plastic versions fitted to past OO9 rolling stock.

Models are sold singularly, with an RRP of £24 per wagon.
