RIDING SOLO
As if The Dakar Rally wasn’t hardcore enough, there are still some intrepid petrol heads who yearn for the race’s late-70s hardcore origins. The Malle Moto class, now known as The Original by Motul class, continues that tradition, allowing up to 30 motorbike competitors to enter – but alone, without teammates or a crew, riding the entirety of the rally with just their bike and any gear they can carry. It’s the ultimate form of survivalist racing, with competitors being responsible for racing, navigating, repairs, food and accommodation.
