IT'S IN YOUR EYES
A simple eye scan may soon be able to identify signs of heart disease, according to researchers at the University of Leeds. The experts used a ‘deep learning algorithm’ – a type of artificial intelligence – to identify signs linked to heart disease. One of these signs is the miniscule changes in the blood vessels of the retina. When the researchers conducted eye tests to screen subjects, they were able to predict a person’s risk of heart problems with an accuracy of around 70%.
