‘Gels and injections are the most common treatments for UK men,’ says Clive Morrison, a men’s health specialist at the Centre for Men’s Health. Other options such as tablets and patches exist, but are not widely used. Testostero­ne replacemen­t therapy isn’t yet as prevalent here as it is in the US, as pharma can’t advertise direct to patients. ‘Although you could argue that this leads to greater awareness, and more men with genuinely problemati­c low T seeking treatment,’ says Dr Morrison.
