Real Aguero bid is a Spain in the neck for Mancini

-

ROBERTO MANCINI’S Man City problems deepened last night after it emerged he is facing a desperate battle to stop Sergio Aguero from joining Real Madrid.

Aguero – nicknamed Kun – has proved a huge hit at the Etihad after netting 24 goals since his club record £36million switch from Atletico Madrid last summer.

But the Argentine’s exploits have alerted Spanish giants Real, with club president Florentino Perez now plotting to lure the striker back to the Continent.

Last night the Blues made it clear that Aguero currently sidelined with a blistered foot after a freak reaction to medical treatment – was not for sale.

But that will make no difference to Perez, who is willing to break the bank to land the player.

Losing Aguero would be a huge blow to City.

Perez knows there are huge doubts over

– Mancini’s future if, as expected, the Blues lose the title race to bitter rivals Man United and he wants to take full advantage of the growing crisis.

To make matters worse, Aguero’s fatherin-law Diego Maradona reckons he should jump at the first chance of a move to the Bernabeu.

The Argentina legend insists Aguero made an error in choosing the Blues over Real last summer.

Mistake

And Maradona said: “Kun has to play for Real Madrid.

“Even though he is flying at City, the best thing would have been to sign for Madrid. “He made a mistake. “Now, as he is doing so well, it will be difficult to get him from City – but if Madrid want someone, they get him.

“Florentino has no limits. It’s a question of convincing City, but not with money because they already have plenty of that.”
