Help for London’s rough sleepers
Network Rail and housing charity Shelter are working together to give new hope to people sleeping rough at London’s Charing Cross and Victoria stations.
The initiative coincides with World Homeless Day on October 10, and follows the success of pilot schemes at Birmingham New Street and Manchester Piccadilly. People will be given one-to-one help to register with a GP, get mental health support, set up a bank account, and perhaps find accommodation.
Shelter will call on the resources of the long-established Passage Group at Victoria and The Connection at St Martin’s at Charing Cross.
