We’re facing decline

-

You would think that after the experience of the past couple of years, any company and its employees would want to do their very best to at least regain old business - and where possible expand it by encouraging new custom.

But not on the railway! RMT General Secretary Mick Lynch and others are really going out of their way to put people off using the railway.

Passengers - both existing and

new - will take a long hard look for alternatives where possible. The same goes for businesses using and wanting to use the railway to move their goods.

This can now only go one way and that is the decline once more of a great industry that in part is still stuck in the era of the last decline.

Things have moved on since then, and improvements have been made with new businesses wanting to use the trains, and lines and stations reopened.

Sadly, much of this will be lost. Services will be cut once more, lines will be run down, and staff reduced. Just when there was a real chance to demonstrate how good the railway can be…
