Tests begin on Tyne & Wear Metro EMU

555001 is shunted at Velim test track (in the Czech Republic) on October 10, having been delivered from Stadler’s factory in Switzerland a week earlier. A total of 46 five-car electric multiple units are on order for the Tyne & Wear Metro, with the first commissioned unit due to enter service next summer.
