Varamis Rail runs its debut service
New freight operator Varamis Rail ran its first service from Scotland to Birmingham International on October 17. Because the train was a proving run, it was unloaded, and so started its journey from Glasgow Shields EMUD instead of Mossend Yard, from where it will run when carrying cages. Having run at 100mph without fault for much of its journey, 321334 arrives at its destination on time at 2310. When the train is loaded, roller cages will be taken off here and transferred to waiting lorries.
