Northern seeks new apprentices

Northern is recruiting up to 16 engineering apprentices to join its maintenance teams at TrainCare centres across northern England.

With a starting salary of £15,817 per annum (rising to £18,963 during the apprenticeship), recruits will also benefit from free travel on the Northern network.

The vacancies are open to all, although the operator is specifically targeting school and college-leavers (aged 16-22) with at least five GCSEs, including English, maths and science.

The closing date for applications (which can be made online at northernrailway. co.uk/careers) is December 11.
