Trapped in train doors
I read the Rail Accident Investigation Branch report issued on October 6 about incidents of passengers getting their hands or small items trapped in closing train doors.
It is not widely known that the doors do not detect the presence of narrow obstructions.
Comparisons are made with the mechanisms on lifts, which apparently have zero tolerance. Is it not time that investigations are made into the option of fitting similar mechanisms to the train doors?
