Delivered to Willesden Euroterminal back in July, a need for urgent repairs forced the transfer of 08703 from the HS2 construction railhead to the Chinnor and Princes Risborough Railway in late October.

With a maintenance pit needed to carry out the work, the shunter was attended to by RSS fitters before moving on to Tyseley on November 4 for further work.

Some 26 months after it arrived, 08507 departed from Eastleigh Works at the beginning of November. Taken to the Cholsey & Wallingford Railway, it is on hire to assist with the line’s Polar Express operation.
