20087 is restarted at Battlefield Line

-

RECENTLY ARRIVED 20087 has been undergoing a lot of work by Heritage Transport Restoration and Supplies Ltd at Shackerstone on the Battlefield Line, and on November 4 it was started up for the first time since arrival there, having not worked for several years since it was based on the East Lancashire Railway.

Work completed on 20087 has included the fitting of three overhauled heads, pistons and liners, along with battery box repairs. Although there is still some work and testing to be completed, hopefully it won’t be too long before it and 20110 – which are both owned by Harry Needle Railroad Company but on loan to the Battlefield Line – are running together again.

20110 was due to bring the curtain down on the Battlefield Line’s normal running season on November 7.

Unfortunately it was declared a failure before the start of service and 33201 substituted for the day.
