Former Greater Anglia Mk.3s for Cholsey’s Polar Express

THE CHOLSEY and Wallingford Railway took delivery of five former Greater Anglia Mk.3a TSO coaches during mid-october for use on its Polar Express workings.

Previously stored at Long Marston, 12061/79 and 12146/64/67 are all now owned by PNP Events Ltd, the company responsible for licencing and organising the lucrative festive workings in the UK, and have been supplied to the railway as part of the contract. Although still finished in Greater Anglia colours, suitable branding was due to be applied before the services commenced.

The company also owns two more TSOS, 12090 and 12137, which are believed to be still located at Long Marston. Meanwhile, Eastern Rail Services-owned TSOB 10413 has been returned to Great Yarmouth following its use on a filming job at Bristol Harbour on October 9/10.
