Livery Changes

-

By mid-january, the last Freightliner Class 90 to retain the obsolete Greater Anglia white livery was 90013, following the admittance of 90012 to Wolverton Works in the first week of the month for repainting into orange and black.

Meanwhile, at Toton, some of the former ‘Eurosheds’ are being treated to a coat of DB red as part of the work to return them to UK specification, 66032 being the first through the paintshop followed by 66205.

All of the Class 175s now carry the Transport for Wales white and red livery following the completion of refurbishment work on 175112 at Alstom’s Widnes facility during early January.

Also completed is the application of Avanti West Coast vinyls to the operators Class 221 fleet, with 221143 belatedly receiving the new look at Central Rivers as part of repairs to bodywork damage sustained at Polmadie early in 2021.

?? Scott Paddington ?? Breaking cover from Arlington’s Eastleigh Works in early January was Locomotive Services Ltd’s ‘Pacer’ 142003, which is nearing the end of a repaint into original GMPTE orange and brown livery, as carried by many Class 142s when they were first built, including this unit. Still awaiting the application of numbers and decals, the unit adds a vivid splash of colour on a rather dull January 7, 2022.
