SRPS 37403 Isle of Mull back in use at Bo’ness

-

the Bo’ness and Kinneil railways winter gala on December 29 saw the first public runs of the Scottish Railway Preservation Society’s 37403 Isle of Mull following extensive engine repairs and an overhaul after its period on hire to Direct Rail Services, which ended a couple of years ago. The gala also marked the last public runs of 37703, which had been in warm store at the railway for previous owner Direct Rail Services but has now been sold to Harry Needle Railroad Company.

Also in use at the event was BKR locomotives 27001 and 47643, alongside GB Railfreight’s 66773 Pride of GB Railfreight, which the freight operator had supplied to the railway as a visiting locomotive.

?? Nick Calzolari ?? Despite poor seasonal weather, the Bo’ness and Kinneil Railway diesel event on December 29 proved popular. The main highlight of the event was the return to service of 37403 Isle of Mull, along with what is thought to be the final working appearance of 37703 on the line following its recent sale. The two Class 37s are pictured at Bo’ness during the event.
