-

concerns surrounding the possibility of Covid-19 restrictions being introduced over the festive period due to the rise of the omicron variant of the virus, the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway decided to cancel the post-christmas trains.

The planned line-up for the East Lancashire Railway’s February 12 Sulzer diesel theme day should see Class 24 D5054 Phil Southern, 25279, 33109 Captain Bill Smith RNR, 45108, Class 47 D1501, and 47765 all in use. At the time of writing there is only one diesel event planned for March, with the

Strathspey Railway holding its diesel gala from March 18-20.

It is planned to use the home fleet (hopefully including the recently delivered 37674) and possibly a guest locomotive, although full details have yet to be released.

The list of events for the spring period is now growing, with more events being added regularly to the calendar.

Details of those events confirmed for the April to June period at the time of writing can be found in the calendar alongside this article.

On November 29, D5862, 37674 and D5394 line up at Aviemore. The organisers are hoping that recentlydelivered 37674 can be returned to service in time for it to make its debut passenger runs on the railway at the March event.
