Golden Glinting 37409 on March 8, 2017
Finding suitable locations for a glint shot on the Cumbria Coast route was quite difficult, but I did find one which had a small window of opportunity around the first week of March. Researching the angles of the sun and sunset times are the key to achieving these images. I’m no master in this art and find it’s probably my Achilles’ heel in photography, but when they are executed well, they can be spectacular. 37409 Lord Hinton curves away from the sunset and into the dark shadows of Barrow’s single-track section route, hauling the 17.31 departure to Carlisle. The north end of Walnay Island is seen on the far right.
