20118 Saltburn-by-thesea and 20132 Barrow Hill Depot rest between duties at Leicester Depot on November 18, 2019.

I have worked for UK Rail Leasing at Leicester for the past five years as a Person in Charge of movements. The depot is now home to a variety of classic modern traction locomotive designs and also services locomotives and units for various main line operators. On November 18, 2019, Harry Needle Railroad Company’s Railfreight-liveried 20118 and 20132 stand on the fuel point at Leicester depot after being fuelled. Having these two Class 20s on the depot took me back to my childhood, when I would regularly see Class 20s in that livery in the late 1980s around the East Midlands, and also heading coal trains through South Derbyshire to Willington Power Station.

The sight of them on the fuel point had so much atmosphere that I just couldn’t resist taking a picture.
