One good thing about working for UK Rail Leasing is that I get a great view of trains passing the depot arriving and departing Leicester station on the main line. During my breaks, I have been to take photographs of passing trains, using some of the stabled locomotives in the yard to gain some additional height. Early to mid-morning is an ideal time for taking photographs of trains heading north from Leicester when the sun is out. GB Railfreight’s 47727 Edinburgh Castle departs from Leicester, working 1Z47, the 07.03 Crewe to Scarborough on August 4, 2018.

The GBRF Class 47s are now based at Leicester, so it is always nice to see them in action on the main line, passing their home depot.
