The ‘From Scratch’ plan is a great fit for the run­ner who is fairly new to the sport and wants to learn more about how to do all the marathon work­outs beyond just long runs. This plan starts with a weekly to­tal of 17 miles and builds to a peak of 46.5 miles. In this pro­gramme, you will be called to do two SOS (Some­thing of Sub­stance) days per week as the sched­ule pro­gresses. Cou­ple those two days with two off days and this sched­ule lays out a cal­cu­lated plan to build your fit­ness safely and ef­fec­tively with­out over­train­ing and ex­haust­ing you.
