THE ‘ FROM SCRATCH’ PLAN
This 18-week plan will get you ready for your first marathon using a wide range of sessions and speeds
The ‘From Scratch’ plan is a great fit for the runner who is fairly new to the sport and wants to learn more about how to do all the marathon workouts beyond just long runs. This plan starts with a weekly total of 17 miles and builds to a peak of 46.5 miles. In this programme, you will be called to do two SOS (Something of Substance) days per week as the schedule progresses. Couple those two days with two off days and this schedule lays out a calculated plan to build your fitness safely and effectively without overtraining and exhausting you.
