SIR – John Latham (Letters, May 12) frets about a robin eating his cat’s tinned food.
When my cats are safely indoors, tails twitching, I put out any leftover cat food for a variety of robins, blue tits and blackbirds. However, I find that, like my cats, they prefer the superior food from foil packets. Lesley Thompson Lavenham, Suffolk SIR – Mr Latham has nothing to fear. Birds have been helping themselves to Captain Jack’s bowl for several years.
They are so greedy (especially the pigeons and magpie) and so territorial that Jack has retreated indoors for his meals. Wendy Brice-Thompson Romford, Essex
