the modern era.” Many were quick to name Percy Stan­bury. “Percy Stan­bury without doubt, recog­nise that stance any­where, weight on the

front foot,” de­clared one Fielder. In­deed, the pic­ture came from Michael Yard­ley’s fea­ture in the Au­gust is­sue on shoot­ing styles, de­lib­er­at­ing

be­tween the Stan­bury and Churchill schools.
