BIRD AND BOARD

Q I am on the hunt for wooden serving boards, depicting shooting birds. I have scoured farmers’ markets, fairs and the odd shop but they all seem to sell a particular style of board. I am fussy. I would like each board to be slightly different in size and style. Can you help?

AMade from wood sourced from her farm, Jonquil Sabin makes unique and quirky boards from oak, beech, ash, elm and cherry. She ensures each piece of wood has character and one can choose the handles from a variety of designs, including pheasant, partridge and a dog. They range in size from small up to 4ft long. Prices vary: the pheasant board ranges from £75-£95.
