Salma Hayek in kidnap scare over her daughter

- From Caroline Graham

ACTRESS Salma Hayek has been granted a restraining order against two women who allegedly ‘threatened to kidnap’ her seven-year-old daughter.

The 48-year-old Frida star, who is married to French fashion billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault, claimed Liana Philippon, 25, and Odette Bodagh, 35, were ‘mentally disturbed’ and had threatened her family’s safety in incidents going back to June last year.

During an emergency court hearing in Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday, the judge was shown an email that purported to show the alleged threat against sevenyear-old Valentina.

It read: ‘I know where her daughter will be. How much is her life worth?’

Hayek’s lawyers claimed the email was ‘a veiled threat regarding kidnapping and ransoming’ the child.

And, in a written statement, they added: ‘This case arose out of a bizarre pattern of behaviour by two apparently mentally disturbed individuals.

‘Their actions include concocting ruses to meet Hayek’s family members to obtain Hayek’s contact information, impersonating Hayek to another celebrity, attempting to directly contact Hayek herself and impersonating Hayek in contacting Hayek’s minor child.’

A judge issued a temporary restraining order demanding the two women stay 100 yards away from Hayek and her husband and banned the them from communicating with the family in any way.

They must also stop impersonating the actress. The order is expected to be made permanent at a further court hearing set for next month.

Hayek married Pinault, 53, in 2009. He is reportedly worth around £10 billion and heads the fashion company behind top luxury brands including Alexander McQueen, Gucci and Brioni.

In 2012, Pinault reached an out-ofcourt settlement with supermodel Linda Evangelista who claimed he was the father of her son Augustin, who was born in 2006.
