What’s the bright idea, Harry – an impression of William of Orange?

- By Kate Mansey

IT’S CERTAINLY eye-catching, but is Harry’s latest getup fit for a prince?

The Duke of Sussex donned the neon-orange outfit in a video to promote the Invictus Games, which he will attend in the Netherlands in April.

The light-hearted footage was released just hours after he announced he would not travel to Britain to attend Prince Philip’s thanksgiving service this month.

While the Prince will not be at Westminster Abbey on March 29, his spokesman said he would attend the sports competition for wounded servicemen and women in The Hague from April 16. Former royal chef Darren McGrady, who cooked for Harry’s mother, Princess Diana, said: ‘His grandfather would have given him a clip around the ear and told him to grow up.

‘The Queen will be devastated, and Princess Diana would, too, if she were here.’

The Mail on Sunday revealed last month that the Duke of Sussex was not expected at the service.

His spokesman confirmed that on Friday, but said Harry ‘hopes to visit his grandmother soon’. In a clip released yesterday, Harry attempts to speak Dutch to Invictus officials in a video call, before donning a dazzling orange hat and sunglasses and taking off his black top to reveal a T-shirt and shorts in the same hue – the country’s national colour.

Harry, 37, who was filmed at his £11million home in Montecito, California, then points at the camera and says: ‘Let’s go!’

A source told The MoS that the Queen ‘very much wants to see Harry and Meghan’s children’, including ninemonth-old Lilibet – the Monarch’s childhood nickname – whom she has never met.

Harry’s decision not to attend Philip’s service comes after he took the Government to court over its decision not to provide full police protection when he visits Britain.

After the MoS broke the story, a lawyer acting for him told the High Court that he ‘does not feel safe when he is in the UK’.
