FIVE handy ways to boost your vinegar intake 20 minutes before, during or less than 20 minutes after eating a sweet

Stir a tablespoon of vinegar into a tall glass of water and drink it through a straw (to minimise damage to teeth).

Add vinegar to the dressing on the green salad that precedes your meal.

Mix a tablespoon of vinegar with hot water and a pinch of cinnamon and a pinch of salt.

Add to hot water with a wedge of lemon and a slice of ginger root.

Mix with sparkling water over ice.
