Light Fantastic

The Blackpool Illuminations are described as the greatest free light show on earth. The annual Festival of Light has been switching on since 1879 and this year’s show is already delighting the crowds. Head along to the promenade to see the spectacle and surrounding entertainments.

The lights will be twinkling until November 4.

Design Decisions

Investing in quality brushes lets you use cheaper paint and still get a great finish. That’s one of the budget-conscious tips DIY expert Julia Kendell, spokesperson for The London Homebuilding & Renovating Show, has shared before the show on September 21-23. If you’re decorating or renovating, head to ExCeL, London for ideas, expert talks and exhibitors galore. Find tickets and booking info at http://london. homebuildingshow.co.uk or call 01527 834402.

Comic Capital

To mark the eightieth birthday of “Beano”, the Bash Street Kids have taken over Dundee’s

McManus Art Gallery & Museum with some of our most loved comic characters.

“Bash Street’s Back At The McMenace” is a fun and rebellious look at “Beano” at eighty. The show takes in the history of publisher D.C. Thomson as well as the story of printing and the birth of “Beano”. The exhibition runs until Sunday, October 21, 2018, and entry to the gallery and the exhibition is free.

It’s a great day out for kids of all ages!
