Queen Of The Tea Towel
Pat Albeck’s work for the National Trust is celebrated with the release of a new book, showcasing her designs.
AN immensely popular textile designer, Pat Albeck was hired by the National Trust to create some unique tea towels for their merchandise range. Her son Matthew Rice provides a captivating insight into her fascinating designs in a new book celebrating her muchloved work. These tessellating jelly moulds, copper pans and rolling-pins were in the kitchen at Lanhydrock.
Pat’s ornithological interests were severely limited – although fond of chickens and more so of white ducks, blackbirds were really the only wild bird she claimed an interest in.
