Something of a national treasure already in the UK, Professor Cox is just about to head to the United States on tour this summer. 40 Years of “Grange Hill”

Celebrate four decades of the iconic TV show with an exhibition at the Museum of Liverpool. Show creator Phil Redmond is Liverpool born and bred, and was also behind the Channel 4 soap “Brookside”. Leonardo’s Drawings

This year, a series of exhibition­s all over the UK will display 144 of Leonardo da Vinci’s works, from studies of skeletons to sketches for inventions years ahead of their time. There will also be talks and workshops celebratin­g the quintessen­tial Renaissanc­e Man. Belfast’s Ulster Museum will have two of his most famous works from Feb 1-May 5. Open every day but Monday. Aviemore Sled Dog Rally

On the weekend of January 26 and 27, whether the snow comes or not, this annual rally will take place in the Cairngorm town of Aviemore. It’s a great event to watch, and the town is full of places to stay and eat if you’re making a full day or more of it.
