The Hedgehog
Every night at half past ten
We peer out through the glass
And watch our little hedgehog friend Come scuttling through the grass.
We put out pots of food and drink To cater for his needs.
His small black nose and snuffling snout Move quickly as he feeds.
His pointed nose is tawny brown, His spines are flecked with white, His half-blind eyes can’t see us As we watch him with delight.
