Jamie’s Farms

-

“We currently have five farms – and every one of them is different,” Jamie says.

“Our four rural farms are proper working farms, with large numbers of sheep, cattle, hens and pigs.

“Hill House near Bath, which is the hub of the charity’s operations, specialises in prize-winning Aberdeen Angus cattle and gorgeous Suffolk ewes.

“Livestock at our Monmouth farm includes Lleyn ewes, Lowline cattle, pedigree Welsh and Gloucester Old Spot pigs, a Jersey cow and two ponies who work therapeutically with young people.

“Jamie’s Farm in Hereford has two orchards and a bountiful kitchen garden, while our farm near Lewes is a relatively new addition that welcomed its first group of young people in 2019.

“We also have a city farm in London. Situated between Waterloo Station and St Thomas’s Hospital, Jamie’s Farm at Waterloo has been transformed from a strip of wasteland into a thriving and productive half-acre site by young Londoners who have spent time at our rural farms.

“In addition, we’re planning to open a Jamie’s Farm in Yorkshire in 2023.

“We’re determined to help as many vulnerable, disadvantaged children and young people as possible by introducing them to life on the farm.”
